Ultrasonic fatigue testing of concrete
Cyclic compression fatigue properties of concrete are studied with the ultrasonic fatigue testing method with cycling frequency 19 kHz and are compared to servo-hydraulic tests performed at 60 Hz. Ultrasonic testing was found applicable for rapid generation of very high cycle fatigue (VHCF) data of concrete.

Standardization of an ultrasonic fatigue testing method in Japan
Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2022AbstractThe ultrasonic fatigue testing method was standardized in the Japan Welding Engineering Society. Scope of this standard is limited for metallic materials tested at room temperature. This standard applies not only to axial loading by longitudinal oscillation but also to torsional loading by torsional oscillation.

Ultrasonic Fatigue Testing of Ti-6Al-4V
Journal of ASTM International, 2005Abstract The objective of this research was to investigate the high cycle fatigue behavior of a titanium alloy using an ultrasonic fatigue system. Fatigue testing up to one billion cycles under fully reversed loading conditions was performed to determine the ultra-high cycle fatigue behavior of Ti-6Al-4V.

Ultrasonic fatigue testing in the scanning electron microscope
Materials Testing, 2016Abstract The continuing trend to increase the performance and durability of machines requires the use of materials, whose structural integrity must be ensured far beyond the classical fatigue limit. In this so-called „very high cycle fatigue“ regime (VHCF), the materials show a strong scatter in fatigue life, which makes life service ...
