Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Acceleration analysis and optimal design of a 3-degree-of-freedom co-axis parallel manipulator for pick-and-place applications

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
Robot acceleration is the bottleneck for high-speed pick-and-place operations. In this article, the extreme acceleration at null velocity is proposed to characterize the acceleration capability for a planar parallel manipulator having a common actuated ...

Ultrasonic characterization of the pulmonary venous wall: echographic and histological correlation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Background: Pulmonary vein isolation with radiofrequency catheter ablation techniques is used to prevent recurrences of human atrial fibrillation. Visualization of the architecture at the venoatrial junction could be crucial for these ablative techniques.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Multimodal evidence chain of iron overload, inflammation, and dysfunction: an integrated predictive model of early cardiac injury in pediatric transfusion-dependent β-thalassemia

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
IntroductionDespite standardized transfusion and chelation therapy, children with transfusion-dependent β-thalassemia (TDT) remain at high risk for cardiac dysfunction due to iron overload.
