Evaluating Different ALD Techniques on NCM811 Cathodes to Mitigate Degradation and Improve Cycle Life

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
Two different ALD techniques are used to prepare an AlOx coating on NCM811 cathodes: fluidized‐bed‐reactor ALD on the NCM811 powder before processing to an electrode film and spatial ALD after electrode film preparation. We used two different techniques of atomic layer deposition (ALD) to prepare AlOx‐coated LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NCM811) materials as ...

Ultrasonic dissimilar joining of aluminum alloy and polymer with the composite material of ABS polymer doping carbonized rice husk

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The metal housing is typically jointed with plastic fittings by conventional gluing method or embedding injection molding to produce this type of devices. We propose to improve this new technique with more practical approach.

Microstructural, Magnetic, and Tribological Optimization of Nano‐ZrO2 Reinforced Magnesium Matrix Composites Fabricated via Powder Metallurgy

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
Magnesium–ZrO2 nanocomposites fabricated via powder metallurgy exhibited enhanced density, magnetic saturation (up to 14 emu/g), and wear resistance. Uniform nanoparticle dispersion improved bonding and reduced delamination, demonstrating strong potential for lightweight, multifunctional applications in aerospace and automotive engineering.

Direct Welding of Metals and Ceramics by Ultrasonic Vibration

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series A, 2005
This paper describes the experimental results of the ultrasonic welding of ceramics and metals. In comparison to other welding methods, ultrasonic welding has made welding of various ceramics, such as ZrO2, SiC, and Si3N4, and metals such as aluminum, magnesium, and copper in the atmosphere easier and quicker.

Experimental Factors and Techniques for Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Enhancement: A Critical Review

open access: yesHeat Transfer, Volume 55, Issue 4, Page 2201-2232, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This review presents a comprehensive assessment of active strategies for enhancing pool boiling heat transfer, with a focus on techniques that do not rely solely on the boiling surface modification. It examines a broad range of methodologies including fluid additives, external fields, mechanical interventions, and thermal‐geometric tuning that

Occupational Exposure to Factory‐Derived Particulate Matter 2.5 Induces Cutaneous Toxicity in Workers and HaCaT Keratinocytes Through Oxidative Stress and Inflammation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 2145-2157, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the toxicological effects of occupational exposure to factory‐derived particulate matter (PM2.5) on human skin, emphasizing its role as a potential target organ of environmental toxicants. An epidemiological survey comparing factory and nonfactory workers was conducted by assessing their skin elasticity and color ...

Cryo‐FIB Lift‐Out and Electron Tomography Workflow for Bacteria–Nanopillar Interface Imaging Under Native Conditions: Investigating Dragonfly Inspired Bactericidal Titanium Surfaces

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 11, 8 June 2026.
A correlative cryo‐microscopy workflow enables targeted extraction and cryo‐electron tomography of bacteria–nanopillar interfaces under fully hydrated, near‐native conditions. By overcoming limitations of conventional imaging, this approach allows direct structural interrogation of bacteria–nanostructure interactions in situ, providing a methodological

Brittleness and Control Mechanism of 0Cr21Al6 Stainless Steel Self-Fusion Joint

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao
[Purposes] Exploring the brittleness of FeCrAl stainless steel is of great significance. Because FeCrAl is an ultra-pure ferritic stainless steel, its weld metal grain is coarse, brittle, easy to generate welding cracks, making it difficult to be used in
