Ring-Type Rotary Ultrasonic Motor Using Lead-free Ceramics [PDF]
Ultrasonic motors provide high torques and quick responses compared to their magnetic counterparts; therefore, they are widely used in small-scale applications such as mobile phones, microrobots, and auto-focusing modules in digital cameras. To determine

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

A Bio-Inspired Flapping Wing Rotor of Variant Frequency Driven by Ultrasonic Motor
By combining the flapping and rotary motion, a bio-inspired flapping wing rotor (FWR) is a unique kinematics of motion. It can produce a significantly greater aerodynamic lift and efficiency than mimicking the insect wings in a vertical take-off and ...

Macrosonics and the Ultrasonic Motor [PDF]
Macrosonics is presented as a part of a complete periodic motion and mechanical vibration spectrum, followed by a resume of the uses of ultrasonic motors, including the category of macrosonic motors that covers a frequency range dipping down into the sonic and subsonic levels.

Fault-Tolerance by Graceful Degradation for Car Platoons [PDF]
The key advantage of autonomous car platoons are their short inter-vehicle distances that increase traffic flow and reduce fuel consumption. However, this is challenging for operational and functional safety.

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.
