Molecular‐Level Modulation of Proton Transport via Electron‐Proton Coupling in Bio‐p‐n Junctions

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
We developed a pH‐sensing device capable of operating in biological environments. A biohybrid p–n junction was constructed using bacteriorhodopsin (bR) and the photoconductive polymer poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT). Under light illumination, the photocurrent exhibits distinct transitions across various pH gradients, demonstrating the system's high ...

Effect of stresses on the ultrasonic pulse velocity in concrete

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1991
Since the stress-strain curve of a concrete is not linear, at least under the first loading, one would expect that the presence of stresses would reduce the velocity of ultrasonic pulses in the concrete. The experimental investigation of this expectation is the topic of this paper.
