ULTRASONIC NONLINEARITY MEASUREMENTS ON ROLLED POLYCRYSTALLINE COPPER
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010Changes in the ultrasonic nonlinearity parameter, β, have been attributed to changes in dislocation density. This sensitivity suggests future applications in nondestructive testing. In this work, the change in β in rolled polycrystalline copper is examined.

Investigation on Dynamics of Ultrasonic Surface Rolling Process
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Ultrasonic surface rolling processing (USRP) is a surface nanocrystallization method developed recently, which can bring metal surface with superior properties. In order to obtain the motion state of the processing tip during USRP, a 3D dynamic finite element model was adopted to simulate the response of processing tip.

Finite element modeling of ultrasonic surface rolling process
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2011Abstract Ultrasonic surface rolling (USRP) is a newly developed process in which ultrasonic vibration and static force are applied on work-piece surface through the USRP operator to generate a nanostructured surface layer with mechanical behaviors highly improved.

Effect of ultrasonic peening technology on the thermal fatigue of rolling mill rolls
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2017In this study, the use of ultrasonic peening technology (UPT) on the rolling mill roll graphite steel GSH48 was surveyed in order to improve some surface mechanical and thermal properties. UPT is one of the newest technologies of severe plastic deformation in which vibratory tool strikes the workpiece surface with continual reciprocating motions ...

Characterization of Rolling Texture by Ultrasonic Dispersion Measurement
1989Ultrasonic scattering at grain boundaries in polycrystals causes attenuation of sound waves and dispersive sound velocities. Texture, that is a weighted orientation distribution of the grains, alters the ultrasonic propagation behavior directional dependent.

Ultrasonic evaluation of residual stresses in rolled aluminum plate
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1999The LCR ultrasonic technique has shown an ability to distinguish between three aluminum plates furnished by Kaiser Aluminum. The 1.22×1.19 m(48×47 in) plates are 19 mm (0.75 inch) thick, but differ in heat treatment and rolling conditions. One is fully annealed (O temper), the second was heat-treated to T651 temper, and the third is a stress relieved ...
