An evaluation of ultrasonic therapy for temporomandibular joint dysfunction
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1971Abstract In a study of 100 patients, ultrasonic therapy alone was not effective in relieving symptoms of temporomandibular joint dysfunction and associated symptoms of muscle spasm. However, it did appear to be of some benefit in hastening and making more effective the relief of these symptoms when used as an adjunct to the accepted modalities of ...

Ultrasonic therapy for psoriasis
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, 1995AbstractUltrasound waves are routinely used in various fields of medicine. Ultrasonic cleaning involves the therapeutic application of ultrasound via an aqueous medium. Low frequency ultrasonic debridement and cleaning may be beneficial in the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis.

Ultrasonic Hyperthermia for Ophthalmic Therapy [PDF]
Absfrucct-A theoretical model was developed to compute the spatiotemporal features of temperature rises induced in ocular tissue during exposure to high-intensity focused ultrasound. The model incorporates damage integral evaluation to predict the Occurrence and dimensions of thermally induced lesions.

Durability study of a gellan gum-based tissue-mimicking phantom for ultrasonic thermal therapy.
Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2020Stability and duration of ultrasonic phantoms are still subjects of research. This work presents a tissue-mimicking material (TMM) to evaluate high-intensity therapeutic ultrasound (HITU) devices, composed of gellan gum (matrix), microparticles ...

A critical analysis of ultrasonic therapy
Ultrasonics, 1976The authors have examined the effect of ultrasonic irradiation on myopy. Fourty-two eyes of 24 patients were treated. In more than 76% of the cases, there was an average decrease of 1.04 D in refraction. When myopy was accompanied by astigmatism, this also decreased or even disappeared.
