180 DEGREE REFLECTIVITY AND VELOCITY PERTURBATION OF THIN METAL DOTS. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Reflective arrays of rectangular thin metal 'dots' spaced in a regular or near regular grid pattern, such as have been used in surface acoustic wave resonators and in-line dot RACs on LiNbO//3 , are analyzed.

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Risk factors for symptom recurrence after microwave ablation of adenomyosis: a preliminary retrospective study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia
Introduction Microwave ablation (MWA) effectively treats adenomyosis, yet symptom recurrence remains challenging. Thus, our study aims to explore the independent risk factors related to symptom recurrence after MWA of symptomatic adenomyosis.Material and

Nitinol Cymbal Transducers for Power Ultrasonics Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The effects of shape memory alloy phenomena such as superelasticity and thermal phase change on the dynamic response of a cymbal transducer incorporating two Nitinol end-caps has not been studied into detail.

In Situ Constructed Magnetic Core‐Shell Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework‐on‐Metal–Organic Framework Structure: an Efficient Catalyst for Peroxymonosulfate Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

High Resolution Flicker-Noise-Free Frequency Measurements of Weak Microwave Signals

open access: yes, 2011
Amplification is usually necessary when measuring the frequency instability of microwave signals. In this work, we develop a flicker noise free frequency measurement system based on a common or shared amplifier.

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Feasibility and histological basis of predicting post-operative pancreatic fistula by pre-operative shear wave elastography: a prospective study

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology
Background This study aimed to explore the feasibility and histological basis of pancreatic two-dimensional shear wave elastography (2D-SWE) measurement in predicting post-operative pancreatic fistula (POPF) following partial pancreatectomy and to build ...

Application of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in the diagnosis of post-kidney transplant lymphoproliferative disorder in native kidney- a case report

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2019
Background Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLDs) represent a spectrum of heterogenetic lymphoid proliferations. PTLD is a serious complication that affects the long-term survival of kidney transplant patients.
