Industrial By‐Products As a Novel Circular Source of Biocompatible Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 32, Issue 29, July 18, 2022., 2022
Extracellular vesicles are identified in food industry by‐products (BP‐EVs). BP‐EVs can be obtained in an industrially scalable manner. Food industry by‐products become an optimal source of nanocarriers. BP‐EVs demonstrate excellent biocompatible and nontoxic features.

Restriction of Dietary Advanced Glycation End Products Induces a Differential Plasma Metabolome and Lipidome Profile

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 65, Issue 23, December 2021., 2021
A diet with a low‐advanced glycation end product content induces specific metabolomics and lipidomic changes in plasma. These changes can be related to several pathways, related to lípid pathways involved in inflammation, and age‐related changes. Overall, they support diet‐induced enhancements in oxidative stress resilience.

Lipid alterations in human frontal cortex in ALS‐FTLD‐TDP43 proteinopathy spectrum are partly related to peroxisome impairment

open access: yesNeuropathology and Applied Neurobiology, Volume 47, Issue 4, Page 544-563, June 2021., 2021
3lipid alterations in human frontal cortex in ALS‐FTLD‐TDP43 proteinopathy spectrum are partly related to peroxisome impairment. Abstract Aim Peroxisomes play a key role in lipid metabolism, and peroxisome defects have been associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as X‐adrenoleukodystrophy and Alzheimer's disease.

Ultrasound image analysis using deep neural networks for discriminating between benign and malignant ovarian tumors: comparison with expert subjective assessment

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 57, Issue 1, Page 155-163, January 2021., 2021
Abstract Objectives To develop and test the performance of computerized ultrasound image analysis using deep neural networks (DNNs) in discriminating between benign and malignant ovarian tumors and to compare its diagnostic accuracy with that of subjective assessment (SA) by an ultrasound expert.

Serum concentrations of IL‐31 in dogs with nonpruritic mast cell tumours or lymphoma

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 31, Issue 6, Page 466-e124, December 2020., 2020
Background The aim of this study was to compare serum interleukin (IL)‐31 concentrations in dogs with lymphoma and mast cell tumours (MCT) without pruritus to those of healthy dogs. Hypothesis/Objectives To determine if IL‐31 plays a role in tumour pathogenesis and if IL‐31 could be a biological marker for disease progression.
