Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography in patients with Moyamoya disease
Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, 1997This study included 17 patients (five men and 12 women) with clinical diagnosis of Moyamoya disease from conventional angiograms. Bilateral basal arteries were measured by the transtemporal approach with a 2 MHz pulsed Doppler instrument (TC-2 64B EME). In 28 out of the 34 basal arteries (82.4%), reliable recordings were obtained.

Comparison of Duplex and Nonduplex Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography
Ultrasound Quarterly, 2008Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography is essential in the management of children with sickle cell anemia and is a valuable adjunct to the evaluation of a variety of intracranial pathologies in children and adults, including vasoconstriction caused by subarachnoid hemorrhage, demonstration of major intracranial vessel stenoses or occlusion, determination

TRANSCRANIAL DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHY IN THE NEUROCRITICAL CARE UNIT
Critical Care Clinics, 1997TCD ultrasonography is a noninvasive means to study the cerebral vasculature. By varying the depth and angle of insonation of a pulsed sound wave, the direction and velocity profile of the cerebral arteries can be ascertained. This can be used to identify areas of focal stenosis and increased resistance and to estimate the adequacy of cerebral flow ...
