Is Prenatal Ultrasonography of Any Advantage?
1986With the percentage of prenatally diagnosed malformations rising, there is a growing need for the contribution of the pediatric surgeon regarding prognostic and therapeutic aspects for the unborn child. An important risk factor for the validity of any statement is the possible presence of undetected, associated malformations. In spite of all advantages

Prenatal Diagnosis of Fetal Tumors by Ultrasonography
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1990Fetal tumors lead to serious illness or even death in the fetal or neonatal period. Problems vary from severe hydrops to underdevelopment of fetal organs. In some instances a tumor may cause mechanical obstruction during the birth process. Polyhydramnios frequently develops. Adequate prenatal diagnosis is of utmost importance.

Prenatal diagnosis of craniofacial malformations with ultrasonography
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1986Although the utility of ultrasound in the prenatal diagnosis of many congenital anomalies is well established, its accuracy in detecting craniofacial malformations has not been examined in a large series. Sonographic examinations of 223 patients at risk for fetuses with craniofacial malformations were performed between 18 and 40 weeks. The risk factors
