Predicting hormone receptor status in invasive breast cancer through radiomics analysis of long-axis and short-axis ultrasound planes

open access: yesScientific Reports
The hormone receptor (HR) status plays a significant role in breast cancer, serving as the primary guide for treatment decisions and closely correlating with prognosis.

Effect of uric acid on lipid metabolism assessed via restricted cubic splines: A new insight

open access: yesHeliyon
Background: Hyperuricemia can promote both blood lipids and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the role of the entire uric acid (UA) span, especially low concentrations below hyperuricemia, on lipid metabolism remains unclear. Methods: A

Slip Localization Intensification Mediated by Grain Boundary Sliding in a Polycrystalline Nickel‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Predicting breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy with ultrasound-based deep learning radiomics models —— dual-center study

open access: yesBMC Cancer
Purpose The aim of this study is to develop and validate a deep learning fusion model based on early (two-cycle) ultrasound images, using stacking fusion technology for the intratumoral and peritumoral regions, to predict early tumor response in breast ...

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Diagnostic significance of combined two-dimensional ultrasound and three-dimensional tomographic ultrasound imaging for cleft palate in fetus of 11–13 + 6 weeks: a prospective study

open access: yesThe Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine
Purpose Clinical screening for cleft palate in fetus currently focuses on weeks 20–24. It has been shown that cleft palate can be detected by ultrasound in first-trimester anatomy scan, but there are no large-scale samples to validate.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...
