Comparison of refractive outcomes using immersion ultrasound biometry and IOLMaster biometry
Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, 2009AbstractBackground: The IOLMaster determines axial length using partial coherence interferometry. This study was designed to compare the refractive outcomes of patients who had been measured preoperatively by both immersion ultrasound and IOLMaster biometry. Methods: Patients were recruited from those who had undergone cataract surgery during the ...

Training in Obstetric Ultrasound Biometry
Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 2022ObjectivesTo assess the intra‐ and interobserver reproducibility of fetal biometry measurements obtained by trainee (junior) and experienced sonographers (senior) in the contest of two training programs in obstetric ultrasound.MethodsThis was a prospective study on 192 women recruited ensuring an even distribution throughout gestation (18–41 weeks), at

Immersion ultrasound biometry vs optical biometry
Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, 2022Purpose: To compare axial length (AL) measurements obtained by optical biometry (OB) and immersion ultrasound (iUS) to investigate the agreement between the 2 techniques and how to use OB constants for eyes with AL by iUS. Setting: Multicenter study.

Foetal Twin Ultrasound Biometry
Acta geneticae medicae et gemellologiae: twin research, 1979Biparietal diameter growth differs considerably in the twin gestation compared to the singleton gestation; thus the use of a specific standard is recommended. A shift toward lower values is noticed in monochorial twins. In the case of the abdominal diameter growth, instead, no significant difference is found between twins and singletons.

Ultrasound system for corneal biometry
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995An ultrasonic biometer images an eye structure and enables measurement of a cornea's thickness at various points about the cornea's surface curvature. The biometer employs a liquid bath in contact with the corneal surface and includes a curved track positioned above the liquid bath, the curved track having a path that closely approximates the surface ...
