Multiparametric Ultrasound Findings of Testicular Sarcoidosis

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 7, Page 1497-1504, July 2026.
Objectives To characterize the multiparametric ultrasound (MPUS) features of testicular sarcoidosis, incorporating greyscale, color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS), contrast‐enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), and strain elastography (SE), and to assess their collective diagnostic value.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasound Elastography in Meniscus Assessment: A Comparative Analysis with Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yes
Objective: Ultrasonography (US) is a non-invasive, non-ionizing radiation modality which is highly successful at diagnosing meniscal pathologies. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the contribution of strain elastography (SE) to diagnosis by ...

Ultrasound shear-wave elastography for musculoskeletal injuries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Greyscale and Doppler Ultrasound (US) are well established as first line imaging methods for the evaluation of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, often providing information comparable with that of magnetic resonance imaging (MR).

Shear Wave Elastography to Assess Respiratory Muscle Function in Congenital Myopathies

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 74, Issue 1, Page 103-110, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Respiratory muscle dysfunction is prevalent in congenital myopathies and often leads to respiratory failure. Ultrasound shear wave elastography (SWE) measures tissue elasticity and has been proposed as an alternative to invasive measures of respiratory muscle contractility.

Affinity Proteomics‐Based Non‐Invasive Detection of Clinically Significant Liver Disease

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 64, Issue 1, Page 74-88, July 2026.
Using UK Biobank proteomic data, we identified a five‐protein score reflecting hepatic stellate cell activation and hepatocellular injury that predicts major adverse liver outcomes and clinically significant fibrosis, with consistent performance validated in two independent cohorts (patients with HIV and alpha1‐antitrypsin deficiency).

Contrast‐enhanced ultrasonography vs MRI for indeterminate testicular lesions: a systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue 1, Page 57-67, July 2026.
Objective To conduct a systematic review and meta‐analysis to indirectly compare the diagnostic performance of contrast‐enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the evaluation of indeterminate testicular lesions and to explore their potential roles in guiding clinical decision‐making.

Steatotic Liver Disease at Primary Biliary Cholangitis Diagnosis: Association With Ursodeoxycholic Acid Response and Outcomes

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aim Steatotic liver disease (SLD) is becoming increasingly prevalent, leading to a higher frequency of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) cases coexisting with SLD. However, data on its impact in patients with PBC remain scarce.

Impact of Breath Holding on Spleen Stiffness Measured by 100 Hz Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds and Aims Ultrasound‐based spleen stiffness measurement (SSM) is a valid non‐invasive tool to assess portal hypertension (PH) in chronic liver disease. Whereas the role of the respiratory phase during liver stiffness measurements is established, no study has specifically addressed how respiration influences SSM by transient ...

Socioeconomic Factors and Their Role in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), a major public health concern, is influenced by an interplay of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors, with socioeconomic factors functioning as important upstream determinants whose roles remain not yet fully understood.

Validation of Risk Models for Predicting Post‐SVR HCC in Real‐World Surveillance Across Global Geographic Regions

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims Several clinical risk models have been proposed to stratify hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) after sustained virologic response (SVR). However, validation efforts have focused on monocentric or country‐specific cohorts, and it is unclear if clinical risk models can be ...
