The value of ultrasonographic scoring method and nomogram in assessing cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma

open access: yesThyroid Research
Background The preoperative cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) status in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) critically determines the type of lymph node dissection performed.

Overview of Strategies to Improve Therapy against Tumors Using Natural Killer Cell

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, 2020
NK cells are lymphocytes with antitumor properties and can directly lyse tumor cells in a non-MHC-restricted manner. However, the tumor microenvironment affects the immune function of NK cells, which leads to immune evasion.

Sparsity-driven sparse-aperture ultrasound imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose an image formation algorithm for ultrasound imaging based on sparsity-driven regularization functionals. We consider data collected by synthetic transducer arrays, with the primary motivating application being nondestructive evaluation.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Diagnostic performance of intestinal ultrasound compared with CT enterography in Crohn’s disease: single-center experience

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
AimThis study aimed to clarify the diagnostic value of transabdominal bowel ultrasonography (TBUS) examination for identifying the location of Crohn’s disease (CD) lesions and their complications in relation to computed tomography enterography (CTE ...

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Super-resolution ultrasound quantifying microvascular alterations for early detection of metastatic cervical lymph nodes: a prospective diagnostic study

open access: yesScientific Reports
To evaluate super-resolution ultrasound (SRUS) for characterizing microvascular morphology and hemodynamics in metastatic versus reactive cervical lymph nodes (LNs), with the aim of improving metastatic detection and reducing unnecessary biopsies.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...
