Advances in research on autophagy in the maintenance of insect–microbe symbiosis

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
Autophagy plays a dual regulatory role in insect–microbe symbiotic relationships. Beneficial symbiotic bacteria in insects participate in nutrient exchange via the TOR pathway, whereas pathogenic microbes induce immune defense through the AMPK pathway. Autophagy‐related genes regulate development and pathogen clearance during this process.

The role of tryptophan hydroxylase‐1 in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, EarlyView.
Silencing hepatic tryptophan hydroxylase 1 (TPH1) alleviated diet‐induced steatotic liver disease by reducing lipid accumulation, oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and hepatocyte apoptosis. These protective effects were mediated, at least in part, through restoration of Parkin‐dependent mitochondrial autophagy, identifying hepatic TPH1 as a ...

Safety, efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and mechanisms of novel 10B‐boronophenylalanine combined with a radio‐frequency quadrupole accelerator in boron neutron capture therapy: A preclinical study in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the novel 10B‐BPA‐based BNCT system, combined with an RFQ accelerator, effectively targets head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It induces tumor regression safely and efficiently by triggering DNA damage and activating the ROS/HIF‐1α/NF‐κB pathway, leading to caspase‐3‐mediated apoptosis.

Protosappanin A Alleviates Atherosclerosis by Regulating the MDM2/GPX4 Axis‐Mediated Endothelial Ferroptosis

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
PTA alleviates atherosclerosis by regulating the MDM2/GPX4 axis‐mediated endothelial ferroptosis. ABSTRACT Endothelial ferroptosis is a crucial pathogenic driver of atherosclerosis (AS) progression. Protosappanin A (PTA), a bioactive compound from Caesalpinia sappan L., protects cardiovascular vessels by regulating ferroptosis.
