Cosmic Histories of Stars, Gas, Heavy Elements, and Dust [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We present a set of coupled equations that relate the stellar, gaseous, chemical, and radiation constituents of the universe averaged over the whole galaxy population. Using as input the available data from quasar absorption-line surveys, optical imaging

Analysis of Spectral Characteristics of Certain Polyene Antibiotics in the Presence of Dmso and Cholesterol

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия
This work presents ultraviolet (UV) spectra of various concentrations of polyene antibiotics. The spectra of Levorin and Amphotericin B differ in three main absorption maxima.

The rest-frame ultraviolet properties of radio-loud broad absorption line quasars

open access: yes, 2012
We recently presented radio observations of a large sample of radio-loud broad absorption line (BAL) quasars from the SDSS and FIRST surveys, as well as a well matched sample of unabsorbed quasars, primarily to measure their radio spectral indices and ...

Role of cerium in lithium niobate for holographic recording [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Cerium-doped lithium niobate crystals are tested for holographic recording. A photochromic effect is observed in crystals doped with cerium and manganese.

Observations of the SW Sextantis star DW Ursae Majoris with the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer

open access: yes, 2003
We present an analysis of the first far-ultraviolet observations of the SW Sextantis-type cataclysmic variable DW Ursae Majoris, obtained in November 2001 with the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer.

VUV/EUV ionising radiation and atoms and ions: dual laser plasma investigations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The interaction of ionising radiation with atoms and ions is a key fundamental process. This report concentrates on studies of photoexcitation/photoionisation using laser-produced plasmas as continuum sources and synchronised laser plasma plumes to ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Evidence for the spectroscopic determination of Artesunate in dosage form [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Vector Borne Diseases, 2008
Background & objectives: Resistance to conventional antimalarials triggered off new policies to circumvent the devastating consequences of malaria especially in the trans-Saharan Africa.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
