Using the Faint Object Spectrograph (FOS) aboard the Hubble Space Telescope, we have obtained the first time-resolved spectra of the King et al. ultraviolet-bright counterpart to the 11-minute binary X-ray source in the core of the globular cluster NGC ...

The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

THE TREATMENT OF THE BED SORE BY ULTRAVIOLET RAYS
The treatment of the bed sore is usually regarded as lying within the province of the nursing profession, but electrotherapeutic measures can help considerably in the healing of those sores which can be described as sluggish ulcers.

The winds and coronae of early-type stars [PDF]
The properties of the winds of hot stars as derived from radio, ultraviolet and X-ray observations is presented. Special focus is given to observations that test line driven wind theory.

PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

Effect of ultraviolet rays on stapliylococciis aureus
Gates (Proc. Soc. For exp. Biol. A. Med., 1923, p. 61), proceeding from the established fact that it is not the falling but the absorbed energy that influences, and taking into account this latter, he came to the ...

Multi-Satellite Attitude Prediction program/Orbiting Solar Observatory-8 (MSAP/OSO-8) operating guide [PDF]
The sun's lower corona and chromosphere and their interaction in the X-ray and ultraviolet (UV) spectral regions were investigated to better understand the transport of energy from the photosphere to the corona.

Could a nearby supernova explosion have caused a mass extinction?
We examine the possibility that a nearby supernova explosion could have caused one or more of the mass extinctions identified by palaeontologists.
