Ultraviolet spectroscopy of renin

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1953
Abstract 1. 1. Experimental evidence has been presented to demonstrate the existence of the renin-protein complex in three distinct configurations which can be distinguished by ultraviolet spectroscopy. 2. 2. Conditions have been established which induce the spontaneous and reversible transformation of renin into these three configurations.

Planetary Ultraviolet Spectroscopy

Applied Optics, 1969
The emission spectra of a planetary dayglow are produced by the resonance scattering of atoms, the fluorescence scattering of molecules, and the photoelectron excitation of the atoms and molecules that are the major constituents of the atmosphere. The absorption spectra of a planetary atmosphere are the result of the combination of ground reflection ...

Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy

1996
This chapter tells the history of the arrival of ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopic analysis during the 1930s, which was an important milestone in analytical chemistry. It demonstrated the advantages of non-destructive analysis. The chapter discusses the benefits brought by this development, such as vast savings in time, and the ability to work with much ...

Ultraviolet Spectroscopy

1972
Investigation into many branches of chemistry and physics reUes extensively on the analysis of absorption spectra in the ultraviolet region (200 to 400 μm). The analysis of the ultraviolet (UV) spectrum depends explicitly on the needs of the investigator.

Far-Ultraviolet Spectroscopy and Deep-Ultraviolet Spectroscopy: Industrial Applications

2015
FUV or DUV absorption spectrum has very strong absorptivity with a steep absorption edge. Since the spectral changes in the intensity, position, and bandwidth of the band are observed sensitively even at the portion of the tail band, these spectra can be applied for a powerful method in industrial analytical applications.

Ultraviolet/Visible Spectroscopy

2012
MOLECULAR STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONAL GROUP presence in organic paint and coating materials, typically, are determined using infrared spectroscopy. Evaluating the electronic structure of the binders such as the degree of conjugated double or triple bonds and degree of aromaticity may be evaluated using the more energetic ultraviolet (UV)/visible (VIS ...

Ultraviolet Bremsstrahlung spectroscopy

Progress in Surface Science, 1983
Abstract Recent experimental progress has introduced Bremsstrahlung spectroscopy especially in the isochromat mode as a new surface analytical tool. Bremsstrahlung production may be regarded as radiative capture by solids and is therefore the inverse process to the well known photoemission.

Ultraviolet spectroscopy of anticonvulsant enaminones

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2002
The ultraviolet (UV) spectra of selected enaminones were determined in acidic, alkaline and neutral media and compared to their anticonvulsant activities. The wavelength of maximum absorption and molar absorptivity were compared with the anticonvulsant activity of the selected secondary and tertiary enaminones, and general inferences were made.

Ultraviolet (UV) Spectroscopy

2019
The discussion of Ultraviolet (UV) spectra is based on the characteristic absorption arising from the transition of different types of electrons in organic molecules. Mainly, there are three types of electrons s, p, and p electrons that are commonly encountered in organic molecules.
