Gastropod mollusks from the Hauterivian of Ulyanovsk (Volga Region): 1. Family aporrhaidae

Data on the detailed stratigraphic range of eight species of gastropod mollusks from the Upper Hauterivian of Ulyanovsk (Volga Region) are presented. A new genus, Trilemma, is established within the family Aporrhaidae. Two new species of this genus, T. russiense sp. nov. and T. striatocarinatum (Sinzow, 1880), are described.

The data on the stratigraphic range of these species are provided.

The stratigraphic subdivisions of the Paleogene included in the updated regional stratigraphic scheme of the Ulyanovsk-Syzran facial district with a wide development of biosiliceous deposits, are described and paleontologically characterized. The biostratigraphic subdivision of the reference sections using diatoms and dinocysts is discussed.

Gastropod mollusks from the Hauterivian of Ulyanovsk (Volga Region): 2. Genera Khetella Beisel, 1977 and Cretadmete gen. nov.

The diagnosis of the genus Khetella Beisel, 1977 is emended, and a new genus, Cretadmete, is described. Two new species belonging to these genera, K. trautscholdi and C. neglecta, are established from the Upper Hauterivian of Ulyanovsk (Volga Region).

Three epitoniid species from the Lower Cretaceous of the Volga Region near Ulyanovsk, including two new species Gibboscala simbirskensis sp. nov. and Confusiscala nackiji sp. nov., are described. The taxonomic position, morphology, and stratigraphic range of the species Gibboscala antiqua (Glasunova, 1968) are emended.
