Rigidity for performance!!! A novel conformationally restrained phenolic merocyanine was synthesized in order to obtain a fluorogenic dye with outstanding spectral properties at physiological pH (fluorescence brightness > 71,000 M−1 cm−1). The utility of its optically tunable hydroxyl group was illustrated with a thiophosphinate‐based chemodosimeter ...

Diterpenes and umbelliferone derivatives from Haplopappus deserticola
Abstract The aerial parts of Haplopappus deserticola afforded three ent -labdane and one labdane derivative as well as a nor - ent -labdane. Furthermore, in addition to three known umbelliferone derivatives, a dimeric coumarin was isolated. The structures were elucidated by high field 1 H NMR spectroscopy.
