Ultrasound-guided rectus sheath block in children with umbilical hernia: Case series

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2013
Background: Umbilical hernia repair, a common day-case surgery procedure in children, is associated with a significant postoperative pain. The most popular peripheral nerve blocks used in umbilical hernia repair are rectus sheath infiltration and caudal ...

3D Multicellular Scaffold Based Model for Advancing Bone Disorder Research

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable 3D multicellular in vitro bone model engineered by integrating osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and endothelial cells on biodegradable scaffolds. The system recapitulates key features of human bone remodeling and disease pathology. As a proof of concept, the model mimics osteogenesis imperfecta, demonstrating its potential as a physiologically ...

Mesenchymal Stem Cell - Derived Exosomes: New Opportunity i n Cell - Free Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2016
Mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (MSCs) are involved in tissue homeostasis through direct cell - to - cell interaction, as well as secretion of soluble factors. Exosomes are the sort of soluble biological mediators that obtained from MSCs cultured media in

Umbilical condyloma lata [PDF]

open access: yesDermatology Online Journal, 2019
Condyloma lata, a cutaneous manifestation of secondary syphilis, usually appear as verrucous papules and plaques in the anogenital area. Involvement of the umbilicus is very uncommon. Thus, awareness of this presentation, along with appropriate history, physical exam, and laboratory testing may aid clinicians in prompt and accurate diagnosis.

A Vascular Microphysiological Model of Lung Fibrosis Reveals That Myofibroblasts and IPF Patient‐Derived Fibroblasts Impair Angiogenesis and Vasculogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A microphysiological lung fibrosis model recapitulates myofibroblast–vascular interactions. Induced myofibroblasts and patient‐derived IPF fibroblasts impair angiogenesis and increase vascular permeability via TGF‐β1–driven signaling. Pharmacological interventions with SB 431542 and VEGF supplementation restore vascular morphology and barrier function.
