Hypoglycemia unawareness can occur in diabetic as well as nondiabetic individuals. A single causative mechanism for its occurrence is not yet apparent. It is likely to be multifactorial but current evidence favors a major role for some type of CNS adaptation.

AbstractHypoglycaemia unawareness can be a devastating complication in both types of diabetes. It is probably becoming more common as patients are urged to tighten their glycaemic control. The effects of improving glycaemic control on the background of increasing duration of diabetes are the main known risk factors for the condition.

Interactive Unawareness in the Graph Model for Conflict Resolution
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, 2020In this paper, we modify the graph model for conflict resolution (GMCR) to model interactive unawareness of decision makers (DMs) about the options available to them in the conflict. More specifically, we consider a GMCR with two DMs, where a DM, in some

An epistemic analysis of dynamic games with unawareness
Games Econ. Behav., 2020We introduce a novel framework to describe dynamic interactive reasoning in presence of unawareness. We extend the notion of conditional probability systems for this setting and we perform the construction of the corresponding canonical hierarchical ...

Unawareness of Attitudes, Their Environmental Causes, and Their Behavioral Effects.
Annual Review of PsychologyClaims about unawareness are abundant in attitude research. This article provides an analysis of evidence regarding three aspects of an attitude of which people may lack awareness: (a) the attitude itself, (b) its environmental causes, and (c) its ...

Iatrogenic hypoglycemia is the limiting factor in the glycemic control of diabetes. It causes recurrent symptomatic and sometimes, at least temporally, disabling episodes in most people with type 1 diabetes, as well as in many with advanced type 2 diabetes.

Abstract We provide a tool to model and solve strategic situations where players’ perceptions are limited, as well as situations where players realize that other players’ perceptions may be limited and so on. We define normal, repeated, incomplete information, and extensive form games with unawareness using a unified methodology.

The Review of Economic Studies, 2011
The paper introduces the problem of unawareness into PrincipalAgent theory and discusses optimal incentive contracts when the agent may be unaware of her action space. Depending on the agent’s default behavior, it can be optimal for the principal to propose an incomplete contract (that keeps the agent unaware) or a complete contract.
