Learning parameters and topology in unbalanced distribution grids
IET Conference Proceedings, 2022The methods proposed in this paper aim at learning the parameters and topology of a distribution grid by making use of available system measurements. The methods that are used rely on the formulation of the underlying physical equations as linear systems and use the resulting problem as a regression problem by applying the ordinary least squares method.

Control of Grid Connected Converters Under Unbalanced Grid Faults
2018 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2018A grid connected inverter with an unbalanced voltage at the point of common coupling creates oscillation in DC link voltage at twice the grid frequency and inject highly distorted current into the grid. In this paper analytical expression for oscillation of DC link voltage and distortion in current injected to the grid are derived.

Unbalanced Three-Phase Optimal Power Flow for Smart Grids
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2011Advanced distribution management system (DMS), an evolution of supervisory control and data acquisition obtained by extending its working principles from transmission to distribution, is the brain of a smart grid. Advanced DMS assesses smart functions in the distribution system and is also responsible for assessing control functions such as reactive ...

Study on grid feed forward strategy under Unbalanced Grid Condition
2019 14th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2019In the case of unbalanced power grid, the disturbance of the power grid is introduced into the feed forward accurately, thus, the output feed-forward part of the inverter is in perfect agreement with the unbalanced power grid, in order to achieve good and effective control of the current of the converter in the dynamic change of the power grid.

Nonsinusoidal power caused by measurements of grid impedances at unbalanced grid voltages
2008 International School on Nonsinusoidal Currents and Compensation, 2008At low-voltage level there is already a commercial measurement device that is able to identify the grid impedance in dependency of time and frequency. Since at the low-voltage level a four-wire system and at the medium-and high-voltage level a three-wire system is installed, the method to identify the grid impedance has to be varied.

Impact of unbalanced grid conditions on PV systems
IEEE PES General Meeting, 2010With more and more photovoltaic (PV) panels, energy storage devices and other small generators being put into service, it is necessary to integrate them into power systems. Grid integration provides a reliable means for customers to use renewable energy such as solar at its maximum and to use other sources as backup.

Control strategy for inverter in a micro-grid under unbalanced grid condition
2016 IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech), 2016Micro-grid is gaining momentum as it addresses grave concerns like climate change and energy security. This paper presents power flow control algorithm for voltage source inverter used in a micro-grid under unbalanced grid conditions. Energy Storage and local energy source are the key components of the micro-grid that is required to help stabilize grid.

Grid Fault Analysis of Unbalanced Loaded DFIG
Advanced Materials Research, 2012The electrical energy consumption is rising and there is a steady increase in the demand of power generation. To meet the demand fuel reserves are not sufficient. So, we can go to non-conventional energy sources like solar, tidal, wind and etc. In that wind generating system is rapidly growing one.

Flexible Operation of Grid-Interactive Converters under Unbalanced Grid Conditions
Advanced Science and Technology Letters, 2015The grid codes of power systems with high penetration of renewable sources impose stringent requirements on the operation of Distributed Renewable Energy Sources (DRES) under the unbalanced grid faults. A generalized power control strategy based on the symmetrical components is used in this paper to control the power delivery under unbalanced grid ...

Influence of Ground Impedance on Unbalanced Analysis of Grid
2018 20th National Power Systems Conference (NPSC), 2018Renewable energy utilization and projects are being used as green energy initiatives worldwide. There are smallest possible renewable energy sources of the order of few KW to large wind mill and PV farms of the capacity of several 100 MW in India. Current systems are hybrid systems having combination of AC, DC, single phase, 3 phase, grounded and ...
