Hybrid vector modulated model predictive control of bidirectional voltage source converter under unbalanced grid voltages

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering
For the power control problem of a bidirectional voltage-source converter, because only one voltage vector is applied at each control period, the traditional model predictive direct power control strategy brings in high harmonic content. In this paper, a

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Material Selection and Geometric Design for Few‐filament Shape Memory Polymer Yarns for Force Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A custom shape memory polymer material selection process relates quantitative application criteria (e.g., compression garment yarns) to material characterization information. The selected materials are manufactured into yarn geometries, which expand the design space by creating structural stress‐strain profiles beyond the nominal material stress‐strain

Control of Three-phase Four-leg Micro-grid Inverter in Islanding Mode

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2013
Off-grid operation is one of the significant characteristics of micro-grid. In off-grid mode, unbalanced loads will cause voltage unbalance and degrade the performance of micro-grid.

Compensation of negative sequence stator flux of doubly-fed induction generator using polar voltage control-based direct torque control under unbalanced grid voltage condition

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2015
This study proposes a polar voltage control-based direct torque control method to reduce the effects of unbalanced grid voltage on doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind turbine system.

Laser‐Induced Ultrafast Magnetic Phase Transition in 2D Van Der Waals Antiferromagnetic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, ultrafast laser‐induced spin transfer and spin relaxation dynamics in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnetic CrI3/CrGeTe3 heterostructures are investigated. Laser excitation is demonstrated to induce pronounced interlayer nonequilibrium spin dynamics and ultrafast magnetic moment reconstruction, driving a transition from an antiferromagnetic (

Controlling the doubly fed induction generator based wind turbines during normal and disturbed grid voltage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This work presents an improved strategy in the field of predictive control (PC) of the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The proposed strategy applies four voltage vector in every period in order to have constant switching frequency and low current ...
