COMPORTAMIENTO RESILIENTE DE MATERIALES GRANULARES EN PAVIMENTOS FLEXIBLES: ESTADO DEL CONOCIMIENTO RESILIENT BEHAVIOR OF GRANULAR MATERIALS IN FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS: STATE OF THE ART

Bayesian inference for dynamic Q matrices and attribute trajectories in hidden Markov diagnostic classification models

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Hidden Markov diagnostic classification models capture how students' cognitive attributes evolve over time. This paper introduces a Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm for diagnostic classification models that jointly estimates time‐varying Q matrices, latent attributes, item parameters, attribute class proportions and transition ...

Refining the timing of Middle Pleistocene (MIS 12 to MIS 6) ice advances into northern central Europe: sedimentological analysis and single‐grain luminescence dating of glaciotectonic complexes and tunnel‐valley fills

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.

PBR‐Inspired Controllable Diffusion for Image Generation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite recent advances in text‐to‐image generation, controlling geometric layout and PBR material properties in synthesized scenes remains challenging. We present a pipeline that first produces a G‐buffer (albedo, normals, depth, roughness, shading, and metallic) from a text prompt and then renders a final image through a PBR‐inspired branch ...

COMPORTAMIENTO DE UN MATERIAL GRANULAR NO TRATADO EN ENSAYOS TRIAXIALES CÍCLICOS CON PRESIÓN DE CONFINAMIENTO CONSTANTE Y VARIABLE BEHAVIOR OF AN UNBOUND GRANULAR MATERIAL IN CYCLIC TRIAXIAL TESTS WITH CONSTANT AND VARIABLE CONFINING PRESSURE

OUGS: Active View Selection via Object‐aware Uncertainty Estimation in 3DGS

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have achieved state‐of‐the‐art results for novel view synthesis. However, efficiently capturing high‐fidelity reconstructions of specific objects within complex scenes remains a significant challenge.

Quantitative Metrics for Edge Bundling of Network Visualizations

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Edge bundling is widely used for reducing visual clutter in large 2D network and trajectory visualizations. Various edge bundling methods have been proposed, each producing qualitatively distinct outputs for the same data; however, few quantitative metrics exist for systematic evaluation. In this paper, we propose a set of quantitative metrics

Punching test for mechanical characterization of asphalt railway sub-ballast

open access: yesRailway Engineering Science
The use of asphalt mixtures for sub-ballast layers in railway infrastructure, which is becoming a preferred design solution in in the high-speed and high-capacity lines in some European countries and in the United States, offers several structural ...

Utilization of Saline Water on the Mechanical Properties for Unbounded Granular Materials

open access: yesThe Academic Research Community publication, 2019
It is well known that three quarters of the world contain saline water. The saline water contains amounts of salt dissolved in water to a concentration of parts in per millions (ppm) includes sodium chloride, Sodium sulfate and magnesium sulfate. Compaction of Base coarse layer is usually done by water which is considered tap water.

Advances in 4D Representation: Geometry, Motion, and Interaction

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We survey 4D representation through three key pillars — geometry, motion, and interaction — offering a selective, representation‐centric perspective to guide researchers in choosing and customizing the right 4D representation for their tasks. Abstract We present a survey on 4D generation and reconstruction, a fast‐evolving subfield of computer graphics
