Measurement uncertainty

2023
Over time, the metrological concept of uncertainty in measurement has been very successfully integrated into laboratory sciences. For proper implementation, an understanding of specific metrology terminology and additional concepts such as metrology traceability and commutability is necessary.

Uncertainty of measurement

Annales de biologie clinique, 2010
The ISO 15189 standard requires the evaluation of measurement uncertainty where relevant and possible. This document presents recommendations for a simple evaluation of the uncertainty from data available in medical laboratory and illustrates the value of such a determination.

Measuring fuzzy uncertainty

IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 1994
First, this paper reviews several well known measures of fuzziness for discrete fuzzy sets. Then new multiplicative and additive classes are defined. We show that each class satisfies five well-known axioms for fuzziness measures, and demonstrate that several existing measures are relatives of these classes.

Measurement uncertainty of phase measuring deflectometry

Applied Optics, 2023
Phase measuring deflectometry (PMD) is a proven optical measurement method for measuring the shapes of objects. This method is suitable for measuring the shape of an object with an optically smooth (mirror-like) surface. The measured object is used as a mirror through which the camera observes a defined geometric pattern.

Measurement uncertainty

Journal of Chromatography A, 2007
Measurement uncertainty is a statistical parameter which describes the possible fluctuations of the result of a measurement. It is not a mere repeatability but it is at least as high as the intra-laboratory reproducibility. If it is an attribute of a general analytical test procedure it is at least as high as the inter-laboratory reproducibility ...

Measuring Uncertainty in Orthopairs

2017
In many situations information comes in bipolar form. Orthopairs are a simple tool to represent and study this kind of information, where objects are classified in three different classes: positive, negative and boundary. The scope of this work is to introduce some uncertainty measures on orthopairs.

Consistency for uncertainty measures

International Journal of Intelligent Systems, 1998
The problem of the consistency for the assessment of a set of data in the framework of nonadditive measures is considered. In particular, some cases are analyzed in the quantitative setting in comparison with classical probability assessments. An actual extension of consistency to belief and plausibility measures is developed.

The measurement of uncertainty

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1961
To express results of experimentation in statistical notation has become a common practice and standard requirement. Indeed, statistics has been adopted as routine aspect of the conduct of experiments to an extent which makes statistical terminology seemingly self‐evident.

Measuring uncertainty of MANET

2014 Eleventh International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN), 2014
MANET is a multi-hop network comprised of nodes that need to work in collaboration with each other for effective routing. But unfortunately, there is possibility of some nodes misbehaving for their own interests and disturbing the network. Therefore, reliability among nodes is very important in the network.
