A Test of Monopoly Price Dispersion Under Demand Uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yes
Dana (2001) developed a model of price dispersion under demand uncertainty. The model predicts that, in the face of uncertain demand and inflexible prices, monopolists maximizes pro fits using ex ante price discrimination. We test the predictions of this

Mode dispersion and delay characteristics of optical waveguides using equivalent TL circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A new analysis leading to an exact and efficient algorithm is presented for calculating directly and without numerical differentiation the mode dispersion characteristics of cylindrical dielectric waveguides of arbitrary refractive-index profile. The new

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

COLLUSION AND PRICE DISPERSION [PDF]

open access: yes
While there are suggestions in applied cartel studies that price dispersion changes when cartelization of a market occurs, there are few theoretical or empirical analyses of this effect. This paper surveys the thin economic literature on the link between

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Simulation of pollutant dispersion in street valleys under thermal pressure

open access: yesXi'an Gongcheng Daxue xuebao
To investigate the diffusion characteristics of pollutants in single and multi-street valleys under the effect of thermal pressure, as well as the influence law of the peak position of the street valley on the flow field within the street valley, the ...

Effect of Cadmium Doping on the Optical Properties of As2(S, Se)3 Chalcogenide Thin Films

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла, 2016
As2S3 and As2Se3 chalcogenide glasses doped with cadmium were synthesized in quartz ampoules. Thin chalcogenide films based on the synthesized compounds were deposited by thermal vacuum evaporation. Optical transmission spectra of the obtained films were

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
