Geometrical modifications on nitrocellulose membranes can result in observable differences in signal intensity relative to a reference membrane (top and bottom left). Using two reference experiments, we have developed a theoretical model that can reproduce the experimentally observed flow changes and provide information on membrane parameters, e.g ...

A Novel Approach to Estimate the Transition Temperature via Dynamic Nanoindentation
A new dynamic nanoindentation‐based method was developed that uses the stiffness ratio as an indicator of the elastic–plastic deformation contributions at different temperatures. The approach successfully identified transition temperatures in ferritic steel and distinguished them from continuously ductile austenitic steel.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Cross-lingual sentiment analysis for under-resourced languages
Sentiment Analysis is a task that aims to calculate the polarity of text automatically. While some languages, such as English, have a vast array of resources to enable sentiment analysis, most under-resourced languages lack them. Cross-lingual Sentiment Analysis (CLSA) attempts to make use of resource-rich languages in order to create or improve ...
