In a recent publication, Ehlig-Economides & Economides (2010) have sought to demonstrate that carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) is not technically or economically feasible, based on a supposed lack of underground storage capacity. We consider

Solution mining technology of enlarging space for thick-sandwich salt cavern storage
Aiming at the current problem that thick sandwiches are commonly developed in domestic salt mines, this study investigated whether thick sandwiches would collapse to allow connection of salt deposits above and below, consequently expand single cavern ...

Inventory forecast of underground gas storage based on modified material balance equation
In view of the gap between the gas storage inventory forecasted by the traditional material balance equation and the actual inventory, experiments of displacing gas by water and displacing water by gas were carried out, and the modified material balance ...

Influence of structure type of underground gas storage cavern on stability of surrounding rocks
Underground gas storage is an important guarantee for the national energy strategic reserve, and its construction is being accelerated. The stability of surrounding rock during the construction of Underground Gas Storage (UGS) cavern is the key factor ...

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Sub‐Terahertz Memristor Switches Using MoS2 by Liquid–Liquid Interface Assembly
This work introduces application‐ready sub‐terahertz memristor switches fabricated from electrochemically exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets assembled at a liquid–liquid interface. The devices exhibit robust unipolar resistive switching, low insertion loss, and high isolation across 10–110 GHz.
