Underground gas storage project

World Pumps, 2018
There are many challenges to underground gas storage, in particular plunger pump applications. Here, the sealing set up had significant leakages on test. However, new arrangements gave the customer and the application a high level of service which solved the problem.

Underground gas storage: An introduction and UK perspective

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2009
Abstract Rising demand and the depletion of its offshore reserves has resulted in the UK becoming a net importer of natural gas. An increased reliance on imports and limited current storage availability mean that the UK faces increasing energy bills and risk of disruption to supply. Because of this the UK government has set about

Underground Gas Storage in Georgia

2006
Underground gas storage (UGS) plays a key role in gas supply both under normal operational circumstances as well as in case of supply emergencies. Most underground formations in Georgia with UGS potential have previously been identified and investigated.

Mixing in Underground Gas Storage

1989
Underground storage fields developed on aquifers or converted from producing reservoirs frequently encounter problems related to mixing phenomena. The need for understanding flow and displacement processes as affected by mixing in the porous matrix surrounding storage wells is important, both in design and operation of storage units.

Economics of Underground Gas Storage

Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1971
The economic advantages of using underground gas storage to balance variations in gas load are illustrated here by comparing it with various other approaches: increasing pipeline flow gas purchases, increasing interruptible sales, and installing LNG or LPG peak-shaving facilities. All other methods run a poor race for a return on the investment dollar.

Underground Gas Storage in the European Gas Infrastructure

Proceedings, 2011
The underground storage of compressed natural gas (CNG) is an efficient proven common technology in use since 1915. Underground gas storage (UGS) became an essential indispensable link in the gas supply chain for adjusting gas supply to meet short-term and seasonal changes in gas demand.
