The automation structure of underground gas reservoirs

1999 IEEE Africon. 5th Africon Conference in Africa (Cat. No.99CH36342), 1999
Firstly, the model of an underground gas reservoir is discussed. Secondly, the main function for an automation system is determined. Then the modular structure of such a system is presented. The main criterion for evaluation of the automation system is discussed. An example of an automation system structure of one Polish gas reservoir is presented.

Repair of Earthquake Damaged Underground Reservoir

Journal of the Construction Division, 1974
A concrete underground water storage reservoir, damaged by earthquake, was repaired with epoxy compounds and by employing some unusual construction methods. Structural redesign and permanent removal of earth fill from the roof slab made it feasible to rehabilitate and strengthen the structure sufficient to meet seismic criteria that were judged to be ...

L51555 Estimation of Average Reservoir Pressure in Underground Storage Reservoirs

1988
The objective of this study was to examine different methods available for estimating the average reservoir pressure of an underground storage reservoir and to determine the relative accuracy of each technique under varying conditions. Three techniques were reviewed, including a new procedure developed as a part of this research project.

Hydrologic response of underground reservoirs to seismic vibrations

Izvestiya, Physics of the Solid Earth, 2011
The response of the water level in wells to seismic impacts from remote earthquakes and explosions are analyzed. It is shown that in most cases the magnitude of the postseismic change in the water level scales as a square root of the amplitude of the deformation wave.

An Underground Reservoir Resistivity Monitoring System for CO2 Reservoir Characterization

SPWLA 66th Annual Symposium Transactions
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) in deep subsurface is a promising way to slow the CO2 accumulation in atmospheric and marine and mitigate global climate change. The sequestrated CO2 needs to be safely stored underground for hundreds of years or longer. Monitoring the saturation of CO2 in subsurface reservoirs is crucial to prevent leakage. As is

Underground Gas Storage in the Old Reservoir

2002
When the oil field is almost depleted, there is possibility of using it as underground gas storage. In Republic Croatia some almost depleted reservoirs as is oil field Zutica could be suitable as underground gas storage. For those reasons, the simulation of gas storage process has been performed.

Reservoir-Geomechanics of Underground Coal Gasification (UCG)

2016
The Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) is still not in a worldwide operation despite inheriting an old idea which is nearly one and a half century old. Aside from effects by other fuel sources on development of the UCG and from a technical perspective, this delay is due to the complex nature of the process.

HYDROGEN STORAGE IN UNDERGROUND GAS RESERVOIRS

The article analyses the prospects and opportunities for storing gas-hydrogen mixtures in underground gas storage facilities. The main processes occurring in the wellbore-productive reservoir system during storage of gas-hydrocarbon mixtures are presented.
