Dynamic pore-scale reservoir-condition imaging of reaction in carbonates using synchrotron fast tomography [PDF]
Synchrotron fast tomography was used to dynamically image dissolution of limestone in the presence of CO2-saturated brine at reservoir conditions. 100 scans were taken at a 6.1 µm resolution over a period of 2 hours.

Simulation of the flood process in urban surface-underground space under extreme rainfall
Urban waterlogging due to extreme precipitation presents an increasingly serious challenge. Pooling of large volumes of surface water can result in flooding of underground spaces.

Methane emissions from the 2015 Aliso Canyon blowout in Los Angeles, CA. [PDF]
Single-point failures of natural gas infrastructure can hamper methane emission control strategies designed to mitigate climate change. The 23 October 2015 blowout of a well connected to the Aliso Canyon underground storage facility in California ...

Site Selection of the Underground Dam using the Analytical Hierarchy Process and Geographic Information System (Case Study: Shahrekurd and Marghmalek Watersheds) [PDF]
Underground dams are structures blocking the natural flow of groundwater and provide groundwater resources. In arid regions with limited water resources, it can be managed by constructing these structures. The purpose of this study was to select suitable

The Limits of Liability in Promoting Safe Geologic Sequestration of CO2 [PDF]
Deployment of new technologies is vital to climate change policy, but it invariably poses difficult tradeoffs. Carbon capture and storage (“CCS”), which involves the capture and permanent burial of CO2 emissions, exemplifies this problem.

Analysis of the source of DOM in underground reservoir of coal mine
For an in-depth understanding of the change process of dissolved organic matter(DOM) in water environment of coal mine underground reservoir, this study used the three dimensional fluorescence spectrum(EEMs), combined with PARAFAC model, to analyze ...
