Construction demand and key technology development direction of underground gas storage in China
Low-carbon and clean energy is an urgent need for China to cope with the challenges at home and abroad in the process of energy development. Thus, natural gas as a low-carbon and clean energy is becoming more important in the national energy system ...

Femtosecond‐Laser‐Induced Physical Unclonable Random Maze Structure for Storage‐Free Encryption
Femtosecond‐laser‐induced gold random maze structures serve as multimodal physical unclonable functions for storage‐free encryption. Their stochastic optical, electrical, and Raman responses are generated by plasmon‐assisted Marangoni formation and converted into AES‐compatible keys without permanent secret‐key storage, offering a portable route toward

Underground hydrogen storage: The microbiotic influence on rock wettability
Hydrogen geo-storage could be the large-scale solution needed for a hydrogen economy. Biological factors have been considered but mainly in terms of hydrogen-metabolising microbes. We demonstrate consistently the direct influence of underground biofilm formation on the wettability of sandstone reservoirs.

Subversion of Atypical Mucin Traps by a Spore‐Coat Effector Blocks Cellular Immunity in Drosophila
While the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii can evade insect humoral immunity, its subversion of cellular defenses is still elusive. We identify Eac1 as a spore‐coat protein essential for infecting drosophilids by targeting atypical mucins (Sgf1 and Sgf2), which can entrap spores in a gel matrix and thereby facilitate hemocyte encapsulation.

Underground hydrogen storage: The techno-economic perspective
The changes in the energy sector after the Paris agreement and the establishment of the Green Deal, pressed the governments to embrace new measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Among them, is the replacement of fossil fuels by renewable energy sources or carbon-neutral alternative means, such as green hydrogen.

Hierarchical Physical‐Cyber Encryption via Metasurface‐Encoded Holographic Keys
ABSTRACT Physical‐layer encryption based on metasurfaces has emerged as a promising alternative to conventional algorithmic cryptography by embedding security into physical processes. However, most existing metasurface‐based encryption schemes operate within single‐stage or static frameworks, where correct physical illumination directly reveals the ...

Red‐emissive carbon dots (R‐CDs) exhibiting aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) and aggregation‐caused quenching (ACQ) effects are synthesized from citric acid and urea. They display weak blue fluorescence in water but strong red emission in DMF due to aggregation.
