Learning Moisture‐Induced Damage From Vision: Diffusion Models for Real‐Time Monitoring of Additive Manufacturing Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce a vision‐based real‐time monitoring system for additive manufacturing that detects subtle moisture‐induced degradation via a diffusion model‐based framework. The approach enables nondestructive assessment of moisture‐induced damage level and mechanical performance and establishes a practical route toward more intelligent, reliable, and ...

Immediate Growth Control in Response to Boiling Histotripsy is Prognostic for Intratumoral Immune Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boiling Histrotripsy (BH), a mechanical form of focused ultrasound (FUS), allows for non‐invasive and non‐ionizing tissue destruction. Utilizing a BH treatment protocol that yielded bifurcating primary tumor growth responses, we found that immediate BH‐induced tumor growth control identifies tumors with acute reductions in antigen‐presenting cells (APC)

Bistable Networks Enable Complex Shape Changes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Transition‐controlled metamaterials are networks of bistable mechanical memory that store local binary states and express them as global shape change. By decoupling low‐force programming from high‐force holding, a single lattice is reconfigured into distinct 2D profiles and 3D surfaces without continuous actuation, enabling reusable morphing materials ...

Busy Urban Soundscape Underwater: Acoustic Indicators vs. Hydrophone Data

open access: yesUrban Science
Urban noise pollution extends into aquatic environments, influencing underwater ecosystems. This study examines the effectiveness of acoustic indicators in characterizing urban underwater soundscapes using hydrophone recordings.

Measurement of low-frequency underwater noise by a self-recording hydrophone

open access: yes, 2007
Ambient noise in the sea is used for monitoring wind speed and rainfall on the sea surface, as well as for tracking whale’s migrating route. In particular, low-frequency ocean noise has recently been of concern with relation to the behavior of marine ...

Toward High‐Resolution Polymeric Neural Interfaces: A Practical Guide for Electron Beam Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electron beam lithography (EBL) enables sub‐micron patterning of polymer‐based neural implants, overcoming the resolution limits of optical lithography. By addressing challenges such as charging, non‐planarity, and substrate heating, it supports higher channel density, improved miniaturization, and better long‐term tissue integration.

Robust Smoothing Cardinalized Probability Hypothesis Density Filter-Based Underwater Multi-Target Direction-of-Arrival Tracking with Uncertain Measurement Noise

open access: yesEntropy
In view of the typical multi-target scenarios of underwater direction-of-arrival (DOA) tracking complicated by uncertain measurement noise in unknown underwater environments, a robust underwater multi-target DOA tracking method is proposed by ...

Developing Soft Interconnected Microchannel Network for 2D Skin‐Like Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A soft interconnected network of microchannels is proposed to develop new pneumatic actuators for future bio‐inspired soft robots. Simultaneous stimulation of this network generates regional asymmetric strains in walls of microchannels whose interaction across the entire surface leads to bending curvatures in multidimensions.
