A Two‐Stage Characterization Pipeline and Open‐Source Framework for Reproducible Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The same soft tactile sensor returns different numbers when embodied in different robots. This is an Embodiment Gap that no shared framework currently captures transparently. A two‐stage characterization pipeline, paired with a FAIR open‐source digital datasheet, decouples intrinsic sensor behavior from embodiment effects and condenses cross‐laboratory

Underwater Object Detection Based on Gravity Gradient

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2010
A novel method of underwater object detection based on gravity gradient is presented, which can be used on autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to detect abnormal objects underwater. Gravity gradient anomalies of partial area, which are caused by the object, can be measured by a gravity gradiometer on an AUV.

Dual Refinement Underwater Object Detection Network

open access: yes, 2020
Due to the complex underwater environment, underwater imaging often encounters some problems such as blur, scale variation, color shift, and texture distortion. Generic detection algorithms can not work well when we use them directly in the underwater scene.

Deep Learning for Underwater Object Detection

24th Pan-Hellenic Conference on Informatics, 2020
Object detection in images or videos obtained in underwater environments is a very challenging task. When we talk about underwater object detection, various difficulties arise especially in domains that study the recovery of endangered fish species or the reduction of the impact on endangered species.
