Non‐Equilibrium Synthesis Methods to Create Metastable and High‐Entropy Nanomaterials
ABSTRACT Stabilizing multiple elements within a single phase enables the creation of advanced materials with exceptional properties arising from their complex composition. However, under equilibrium conditions, the Hume–Rothery rules impose strict limitations on solid‐state miscibility, restricting combinations of elements with mismatched crystal ...

Applications of Cognitive Radio Networks [PDF]
The term cognitive radio (CR), originally coined in the late 1990s, envisaged a radio that is aware of its operational environment so that it can dynamically and autonomously adjust its radio-operating parameters to accordingly adapt to the different ...

Multi‐Force‐Driven Self‐Recoverable SWIR Mechanoluminescence for Underwater Communication
This study represents the first demonstration of self‐recoverable mechanoluminescent (ML) within a single material across diverse mechanical modes, enabled by the synergistic coupling of piezoelectric and triboelectric effects. Through a combinatorial doping approach, the MgNb2O6 crystal exhibits breakthrough short‐wavelength infrared ML performance ...

Coverage and Connectivity in Three-Dimensional Networks
Most wireless terrestrial networks are designed based on the assumption that the nodes are deployed on a two-dimensional (2D) plane. However, this 2D assumption is not valid in underwater, atmospheric, or space communications. In fact, recent interest in

Reactive Localization in Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks
In this paper, we present a novel technique for localizing an event of interest in an underwater environment. The network consists of randomly deployed identical sensor nodes. Instead of proactively localizing every single node in the network as all proposed techniques set out to do, we approach localization from a reactive angle.
