ENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.A bilayer protection approach is proposed for slowing down the surface potential decay of thin films of spontaneously‐polarized electret materials. The electret and the protective films are characterized, and the protection effectiveness is investigated under the effects of light illumination, water contact and mechanical impact.
