Uniaxial Compressive Strength Test on Artificially Frozen Clay
Uniaxial unconfined compressive strength test of the original frozen soil sample and its remodeled frozen soil sample of 3 different layers of Qinan Mine was carried out. The analysis of experimental results show that shear destruction occurred along the slope downward 45 to 55 degrees when the original permafrost sample was destroyed.

Models for estimating uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus
The most significant methods for estimating the uniaxial compressive strength and Young’s modulus of intact rock material, formulated in the scope of numerous previous studies, are briefly presented in the paper. The proposal for classification of these methods, according to which they can generally be divided into simple and complex methods, is also ...

Model tree approach for predicting uniaxial compressive strength and
The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and Young's modulus (E) of rock are important parameters for evaluating the strength, deformation, and stability of rock engineering structures. Direct measurement of these parameters is expensive, time-consuming, and even infeasible in some circumstances due to the difficulty involved in obtaining core samples ...

A New Approach to Fibrous Composite Laminate Strength Prediction [PDF]
A method of predicting the strength of cross-plied fibrous composite laminates is based on expressing the classical maximum-shear-stress failure criterion for ductile metals in terms of strains.
