Unlocking Exceptional Strengthening in Aluminum Alloys via Interstitial Cottrell Atmosphere Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cyclic unloading‐aging‐reloading micro‐tensile tests under various aging durations and temperatures, combined with comprehensive microstructural characterization reveal that the yield point phenomenon in Aluminum‐Carbon (Al‐C) thin films originates from Cottrell atmosphere formation.

Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...

EFFECT OF COMPRESSIVE STRESS ON FATIGUE OF ALUMINA UNDER UNIAXIAL CYCLIC LOADING

open access: yes, 1993
The effect of compressive stress on fatigue behavior of alumina was investigated under uniaxial cyclic loading. Experimental data for alumina tension specimens under uniaxial tension-unloading and tension-compression cyclic loadings were compared.

Co‐Electrospinning Extracellular Matrix with Polycaprolactone Enables a Modular Approach to Balance Bioactivity and Mechanics of a Multifunctional Bone Wrap

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Mechanical Properties of Latex-Modified Cement Stone under Uniaxial and Triaxial Cyclic Loading

open access: yes
During the cyclic injection and extraction process in underground storage wellbores, the cement sheath undergoes loading and unloading stress cycles. In this study, we investigated the mechanical properties of latex-modified cement stone (LMCS), widely ...

Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.
