On Characteristics of Ferritic Steel Determined during the Uniaxial Tensile Test. [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials (Basel), 2021
Tensile uniaxial test is typically used to determine the strength and plasticity of a material. Nominal (engineering) stress-strain relationship is suitable for determining properties when elastic strain dominates (e.g., yield strength, Young’s modulus).

Evaluation of Plasticity Models Using Uniaxial Tensile Test

open access: yesEuropean Mechanical Science, 2020
In this study, it is aimed to evaluate plasticity model prediction performance for plastic behavior of materials using a uniaxial tensile test. For this purpose, von Mises, Hill-48, Hill-93, Barlat-89 and Hu -2003 plasticity models are studied, and DC04,

Random laser imaging of bovine pericardium under the uniaxial tensile test. [PDF]

open access: yesBiomed Opt Express, 2018
We demonstrate random laser (RL) emission from within bovine pericardium (BP) tissue. The interest in BP relies on its wide use as a valve replacement and as a biological patch. By imaging the emitting tissue, we show that RL emission is mostly generated inside the collagen fibers. Multimode RL operation is thus achieved within the volume of each fiber.

Comparison between uniaxial and pull-out tests setup for polyester and HDPE geogrids [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2023
Uniaxial tensile and/or pull-out tests are performed to obtain the stress-strain curve of geogrids. The clamp lining in contact with a specimen in the uniaxial tensile test or the grit of a sandpaper clamp liner in a pull-out test affects the results. In

Comparative study on the results of different tensile test methods of artificial frozen soil [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Tensile strength of frozen soil is an important index for frozen soil engineering design. It is found that uniaxial tensile strength, three-point bending and four-point bending tensile strength values of frozen soil are inconsistent in the test. For this

Calibration of Advanced Yield Criteria Using Uniaxial and Heterogeneous Tensile Test Data

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Conventionally, plastic anisotropy is calibrated by using standard uniaxial tensile and biaxial test results. Alternatively, heterogeneous strain field specimens in combination with full-field measurements can be used for this purpose. As reported by the
