Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

The projection method: a unified formalism for community detection

open access: yesFrontiers in Complex Systems
We present the class of projection methods for community detection that generalizes many popular community detection methods. In this framework, we represent each clustering (partition) by a vector on a high-dimensional hypersphere. A community detection

A Unified Weighted Least Norm Method for Redundant Manipulator Control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2016
A redundant manipulator usually has multiple kinematic solutions at the velocity level and can be used to optimize other criteria. Although the pseudo inverse of the Jacobian matrix generates a solution with the least 2 norm (LN), it does not consider ...

Newton-Euler, Lagrange and Kirchhoff formulations of rigid body dynamics: a unified approach

open access: yes, 2015
A unified formulation of rigid body dynamics based on Gauss principle is proposed. The Lagrange, Kirchhoff and Newton-Euler equations are seen to arise from different choices of the quasicoordinates in the velocity space. The group-theoretical aspects of

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

A New Method for Unifying Heterogeneous Databases

open access: yes, 2001
In this article we present a new method for unifying heterogeneous databases. We propose the unification at the level of conceptual schemas in a two-step process. First, the internal database schemas are mapped to conceptual schemas in a user interactive process. These schemas are then automatically integrated, creating a virtual repository.

Simultaneous Least Squares Treatment of Statistical and Systematic Uncertainties

open access: yes, 2005
We present a least squares method for estimating parameters from measurements of event yields in the presence of background and crossfeed. We adopt a unified approach to incorporating the statistical and systematic uncertainties on the experimental ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Multi-time-horizon Solar Forecasting Using Recurrent Neural Network

open access: yes, 2018
The non-stationarity characteristic of the solar power renders traditional point forecasting methods to be less useful due to large prediction errors.

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.
