Compensation of voltage flicker using Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC)
2014 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2014Voltage flicker, which is a repetitive voltage magnitude change of low frequency, is one of the power quality problems. The problem is aggravated with the use of non-linear load. The paper presents the use of a Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) as a solution to voltage flicker. A simple control technique is proposed to control UPQC.

A unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) for simultaneous voltage and current compensation
Electric Power Systems Research, 2001Abstract The paper discusses the topology and control of a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) that can be used simultaneously in voltage or current control mode in a power distribution system. In the voltage control mode, the UPQC can force the voltage of a distribution bus to be balanced sinusoids.

A new control scheme for unified power quality conditioner (UPQC)
2011 3rd International Conference on Electronics Computer Technology, 2011This paper presents a solution to the control of a unified power quality (PQ) conditioner (UPQC) for Power Quality improvement in power distribution systems. The problem formulation allows not only harmonic compensation but also voltage sags/swells, load demand changes, and power factor correction to be tackled in a unified framework.

Modeling of unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) in distribution systems load flow
Energy Conversion and Management, 2009This paper presents modeling of unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) in load flow calculations for steady-state voltage compensation. An accurate model for this device is derived to use in load flow calculations. The rating of this device as well as direction of reactive power injection required to compensate voltage to the desired value (1 p.u ...

A New Control Strategy for Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) In Distribution Systems
2006 International Conference on Power System Technology, 2006This paper presents a novel and easy to implement control strategy for unified power quality conditioner (UPQC). The control strategy of parallel active filter (PAF) is based on fourier transform theory, while the control circuit of series active filter (SAF) is based on positive sequence detection theory. Operating of PAF using this method compensates

Unified Power Quality conditioner (UPQC) control using feed forward (FF)/ feed back (FB) controller
2011 International Conference on Computer, Communication and Electrical Technology (ICCCET), 2011This paper presents the new control design or the unified power quality (PQ) conditioner (UPQC) for Power Quality improvement. The purpose of UPQC is to compensate for voltage sags/swells, load demand changes, power factor correction etc,. The control strategy employs a kalman filter to estimate the fundamental component as well as the harmonic ...
