Bounds for Incomplete Confluent Fox–Wright Generalized Hypergeometric Functions
We establish several new functional bounds and uniform bounds (with respect to the variable) for the lower incomplete generalized Fox–Wright functions by means of the representation formulae for the McKay Iν Bessel probability distribution’s cumulative ...

Finite-state Strategies in Delay Games [PDF]
What is a finite-state strategy in a delay game? We answer this surprisingly non-trivial question and present a very general framework for computing such strategies: they exist for all winning conditions that are recognized by automata with acceptance ...

Uniform bounds for bounded geodesic image theorems [PDF]
Abstract We give a universal bound for the bounded geodesic image theorem of Masur–Minsky. The proof uses elementary techniques. We also give a universal bound for a stronger version of subsurface projection, this demonstrates good control over many standard subsurface projections simultaneously.

The Arsenal of Perturbation Bounds for Finite Continuous-Time Markov Chains: A Perspective
Perturbation bounds are powerful tools for investigating the phenomenon of insensitivity to perturbations, also referred to as stability, for stochastic and deterministic systems.

Bounds on the Number of Edges of Edge-Minimal, Edge-Maximal and L-Hypertrees
In their paper, Bounds on the number of edges in hypertrees, G.Y. Katona and P.G.N. Szabó introduced a new, natural definition of hypertrees in k- uniform hypergraphs and gave lower and upper bounds on the number of edges. They also defined edge-minimal,

Quantization and Compressive Sensing [PDF]
Quantization is an essential step in digitizing signals, and, therefore, an indispensable component of any modern acquisition system. This book chapter explores the interaction of quantization and compressive sensing and examines practical quantization ...

AbstractWe investigate the computable content of the Uniform Boundedness Theorem which states that a pointwise bounded sequence of bounded linear operators on Banach spaces is also uniformly bounded. But, given the sequence, can we also effectively find the uniform bound? It turns out that the answer depends on how the sequence is “given”.

On lower bounds for Poisson approximation to 2-runs statistic
Two-runs statistic is approximated by various compound Poisson distributions and second order asymptotic expansions. Estimates of lower bounds are obtained for the uniform Kolmogorov and local metrics.

Lower Bounds on Mutual Information [PDF]
We correct claims about lower bounds on mutual information (MI) between real-valued random variables made in A. Kraskov {\it et al.}, Phys. Rev. E {\bf 69}, 066138 (2004). We show that non-trivial lower bounds on MI in terms of linear correlations depend
