A Note on Uniform Exponential Stability of Linear Periodic Time-Varying Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2020
In this paper we derive new criterion for uniform stability assessment of the linear periodic time-varying systems $\dot x=A(t)x,$ $A(t+T)=A(t).$ As a corollary, the lower and upper bounds for the Floquet characteristic exponents are established. The approach is based on the use of logarithmic norm of the system matrix $A(t).$ Finally we analyze the ...

Combinatorial Synthesis of Next Generation Water‐Soluble Quaternized N‐Halamine Oligomers with Long‐Lasting Antiviral Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A combinatorial library of dual‐functional antiviral oligomers incorporating N‐halamine and quaternary ammonium functionalities is developed for long‐lasting antiviral activity. The lead materials exhibit rapid and durable antiviral activity against SARS‐CoV‐2 variants and influenza H1N1, with 4 to 5 log reduction in viral copies at 5 mg mL−1 ...

On uniform asymptotic $h$-stability for linear non autonomous systems.

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
A classical result in the theory of stability of nonautonomous linear systems is that the uniform exponential decay of its corresponding transition matrix is equivalent to the uniform asymptotic stability of the trivial solution.

Exponential Mixing for Retarded Stochastic Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we discuss exponential mixing property for Markovian semigroups generated by segment processes associated with several class of retarded Stochastic Differential Equations (SDEs) which cover SDEs with constant/variable/distributed time-lags.

Uniform Exponential Stability of Galerkin Approximations for a Damped Wave System

open access: yes, 2019
We consider the numerical approximation of linear damped wave systems by Galerkin approximations in space and appropriate time-stepping schemes. Based on a dissipation estimate for a modified energy, we prove exponential decay of the physical energy on the continuous level provided that the damping is effective everywhere in the domain.

Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).

A Generalization for Theorems of Datko and Barbashin Type

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2015
The goal of the paper is to give some characterizations for the uniform exponential stability of evolution families by unifying the discrete-time versions of the Barbashin-type theorem and the Datko-type theorem.

Time-fractional nonlinear Swift-Hohenberg equation: Analysis and numerical simulation

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2020
In this paper, a new scheme based on the exponential fitting technique is presented for solving the nonlinear time-fractional Swift-Hohenberg equation, where the first and second-order derivatives are replaced by Caputo fractional derivative.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Uniform Exponential Stabilization for Flexural Vibrations of a Solar Panel

open access: yesApplied Mathematics, 2011
Here we study a problem of stabilization of the flexural vibrations or transverse vibrations of a rectangular solar panel. The dynamics of vibrations is governed by the fourth order Euler-Bernoulli beam equation. One end of the panel is held by a rigid hub and other end is totally free. Due to attachment of the hub, its dynamics leads to a non-standard
