Repeated Binary Action Coordination Games with Uniform Noise and Prior

2023
I explore a game where two players simultaneously choose between two actions in finitely many stages. Players have incomplete information about their payoffs. In each stage, they receive a noisy signal about a parameter that determines their payoffs; the signal's noise is a random variable that is uniformly distributed over the closed interval from 0 ...

Achieving Uniform Mixing in a Microfluidic Device:  Hydrodynamic Focusing Prior to Mixing

Analytical Chemistry, 2006
We describe a microfluidic mixer that is well-suited for kinetic studies of macromolecular conformational change under a broad range of experimental conditions. The mixer exploits hydrodynamic focusing to create a thin jet containing the macromolecules of interest.

Two point priors and Γ-minimax estimating in families of uniform distributions

Statistical Papers, 1988
It is shown that when a parameter lying in a sufficiently small interval is to be estimated in a family of uniform distributions, a two point prior is least favourable under squared error loss. The unique Bayes estimator with respect to this prior is minimax.

A Uniform Shrinkage Prior in Spatiotemporal Poisson Models for Count Data

2021
We consider default Bayesian inference in a Poisson generalized linear mixed model for spatiotemporal data. Normal random effects are used to model the within-area correlation over time, and spatial effects represented with a proper conditional autoregressive (CAR) model are used to model the between-area correlations.

Non-uniform Motion Deblurring Using Normalized Hyper Laplacian Prior

2015
Non-uniform motion deblurring is a hard topic for image processing. Non-uniform blur is often caused by camera motion in 3D while taking photos. Existing non-uniform deblurring methods formulate the blur as a linear combination of homographic transforms of a clear image. But they are computationally expensive and require large memory because the amount

Non-Uniformity Correction and Temperature Estimation with Physical Prior

Optica Imaging Congress 2025 (3D, DH, COSI, IS, pcAOP,RadIT)
This work jointly estimated estimates temperature and corrects nonuniformity in low-cost thermal cameras. Single and multi-image physical aware deep learning approaches are presented. Results show error of less than 0.5 °C on real data.

Why non-uniform priors on clades are both unavoidable and unobjectionable

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2007
Pickett and Randle (2005) showed that for n > 4 taxa, any prior probability distribution that is uniform with respect to tree topologies induces a non-uniform distribution on clades. Steel and Pickett (2006) then strengthened this result by proving that any label invariant distribution on trees induces a non-uniform prior on clades, but left open the ...
