A uniform framework of representation and structure reconstruction for generic form image
Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005In the paper, we propose a novel uniform representation of generic form, within which three typical categories are defined according to the logical layout from the view point of human vision, which are explicit, semiexplicit, and implicit style form. Under the uniform framework, the different criteria are also defined and carried out on the difference ...

Automatic generation of non-uniform HMM structures based on variational Bayesian approach
2004 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2004We propose using the variational Bayesian (VB) approach for automatically creating nonuniform, context-dependent HMM topologies in speech recognition. The maximum likelihood (ML) criterion is generally used to create HMM topologies. However, it has an over-fitting problem.

Experimental Circuit Model Generation of Non-Uniform Coupled Multi-Conductor Structures
49th ARFTG Conference Digest, 1997In the paper a new method is described for the experimental circuit modeling of non-uniform coupled multi-conductor structures. The method can handle a large number of coupled conductors N since it reduces the modeling of the 2N-port to the modeling of a number easier to model 4-port structures.

A new generalized high-frequency transmission line model is presented for general uniform hybrid waveguide structures consisting of inhomogeneous isotropic or anisotropic media. Starting from Maxwell’s equations, the generalized coupled telegrapher’s equations are found and the frequency-dependent transmission line parameter matrices R(ω), G(ω), L(ω ...

In this paper, a hybrid excitation synchronous generator(HESG) with non-uniform rotor structure is proposed, whose flux density and operation characteristics are compared to that of uniform rotor structure. The rotor of the proposed HESG is composed of two solid claw poles, rotor yoke and the permanent magnets (PMs) which have both tangential and ...

General construction of monoidal closed structures in topological, uniform and nearness spaces
1982In the following paper we consider topological structures on function spaces and cartesian products being connected by an exponential law of the form C(X⊙Y,Z) ≅ C(X,C(Y,Z)). Topological categories provided with such a "monoidal closed" structure are suitable base categories for topological algebra, algebraic topology, automata- or duality theory, in ...

Generating stable structure using Scale-space analysis with non-uniform Gaussian kernels
1997Coarseness and directionality are important sources of information for texture image recognition. They are especially important for distinguishing between the textures and understanding the characteristics of similar textures. So we propose a new Scale-space analysis with non-uniform Gaussian kernels in order to find a stable image in which coarseness ...
