Smoothing of Hilbert-valued uniformly continuous maps

Izvestiya: Mathematics, 2005
We approximate (in the uniform norm) Hilbert-valued uniformly continuous maps defined on , , by maps with bounded first derivatives and maximal local smoothness, which coincides with the smoothness of the space. The result obtained is definitive as far as the smoothness of smoothing maps is concerned since there is a 1-Lipschitzian map from , , to that

Uniformly continuous maps between ends of $${\mathbb{R}}$$ -trees

Mathematische Zeitschrift, 2008
In the paper under review, the authors study a categorial correspondence of certain coarse maps between trees, on the one hand, and uniformly continuous maps between the corresponding end spaces of such trees, i.e. ultrametric spaces, on the other hand.

Ground states and periodic orbits for expanding Thurston maps

Existence of lattice-valued uniformly continuous mappings

Proceedings Joint 9th IFSA World Congress and 20th NAFIPS International Conference (Cat. No. 01TH8569), 2002
In L-fuzzy topology, the theorem of existence of uniformly continuous mappings is very essential for the theory of uniform spaces and theory of metric spaces. In fact, the main and basic theorem "An L-fuzzy topological space is uniformizable if and only if it is completely regular" is just based on the theorem of existence of uniformly continuous ...

Smoothing of uniformly continuous mappings in Lp spaces

Mathematical Notes, 1993
The paper deals with approximation of uniformly continuous mappings of the unit ball \(B_ p\subset L_ p\) into \(L_ q\) by functions from Hölder classes. For spaces defined on a measure space with a \(\sigma\)- additive measure, lower bounds for the Hölder exponent are established and a quantitative dependence on further geometric properties is studied

UNIFORMLY CONTINUOUS MAPPINGS ON PREMETRIC SPACES

Bukovinian Mathematical Journal
We study the notion of uniformly continuous mapping between quasi-metric spaces and construct an example of the topological homeomorphism between two compact Hausdorff partially metric spaces such that the corresponding mapping between quasi-metric spaces is not uniformly continuous.

A theorem on uniformly continuous extensions of mappings defined in finite-dimensional spaces

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1969
We prove a theorem on uniformly continuous extensions of mappings defined in spaces whose uniformities have a base of finite-dimensional uniform coverings. This theorem includes a theorem of M. Katětov.
