Dispensing Volumetric Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dispensing volumetric additive manufacturing (DVAM) prints 3D structures inside a photocurable resin droplet suspended from the tip of a glass pipette, enabling sequential printing without resin vats or manual part removal. Real‐time droplet profiling and ray‐tracing‐based correction compensate for optical distortion at the curved resin‐air interface ...

Subclasses of uniformly convex and starlike functions associated with Bessel functions

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS, 2019
Summary: In recent years, applications of Bessel differential equations have been commonly used in univalent functions theory. The main object of the present paper is to give some characteristic properties for some subclasses of uniformly starlike and convex functions which are defined here by means of the normalized form of the generalized Bessel ...

On proximal mappings with Young functions in uniformly convex Banach spaces

open access: yes, 2017
It is well known in convex analysis that proximal mappings on Hilbert spaces are $1$-Lipschitz. In the present paper we show that proximal mappings on uniformly convex Banach spaces are uniformly continuous on bounded sets.

Engineering Strategies for Stable and Long‐Life Alkaline Zinc‐Based Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Alkaline zinc‐based flow batteries face persistent challenges from unstable zinc deposition, including dendrite growth, passivation, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution, which severely limit cycling stability. Current research addresses these issues through coordinated electrode structuring, electrolyte regulation, and membrane design to control zinc ...

The Floor‐Ceiling‐Chip, or 2 × 2D = Pseudo‐3D—Approaching 3D Cell Morphology and Organization between Two Opposing 2D Substrates with Cell‐Adhesive Protein Micropatterns

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we present a novel 3D cell patterning and culture platform. The “Floor‐Ceiling‐Chip” (FC‐Chip) consists of two opposing track‐etched membranes, creating a pseudo‐3D microenvironment for the cells in between. By providing the membranes with micropatterned cell‐adhesive islands of varying geometries and sizes, the FC‐Chip enables control over cell ...

Ti6Al4V‐Bioglass‐Copper Composites for Load‐Bearing Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We have designed and manufactured a novel Ti64‐based composite by adding 45S5 bioglass (BG) and copper (Cu). Adding BG on titanium improves wear resistance and biocompatibility, whereas Cu addition improves mechanical strength while providing inherent lifelong bacterial resistance.

Certain Subclasses of β-Uniformly q-Starlike and β-Uniformly q-Convex Functions

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
In this paper, the authors introduced certain subclasses β-uniformly q-starlike and β-uniformly q-convex functions of order α involving the q-derivative operator defined in the open unit disc. Coefficient bounds were also investigated.

Primal-dual subgradient methods for minimizing uniformly convex functions

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss non-Euclidean deterministic and stochastic algorithms for optimization problems with strongly and uniformly convex objectives. We provide accuracy bounds for the performance of these algorithms and design methods which are adaptive with ...
