Randomized series and Geometry of Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
We study some properties of the randomized series and their applications to the geometric structure of Banach spaces. For $n\ge 2$ and $1

State of the Art of Low‐Frequency Acoustic Modulation: Intensity Enhancement and Directional Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High intensity low‐frequency sound sources hold significant value in many fields. However, their long wavelength, strong penetrability, and tendency to diffract make direction control and intensity enhancement challenging. Acoustic generators and metamaterial‐based acoustic devices still face issues such as low energy efficiency, poor directional ...

Weak Convergence of the Projection Type Ishikawa Iteration Scheme for Two Asymptotically Nonexpansive Nonself-Mappings

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
We study weak convergence of the projection type Ishikawa iteration scheme for two asymptotically nonexpansive nonself-mappings in a real uniformly convex Banach space E which has a Fréchet differentiable norm or its dual E* has the Kadec-Klee property ...

Inverse Design of Highly Deformable Mechanical Metamaterial Based on Partitional Semi‐Random Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research presents a novel optimization method for the inverse design of flexible mechanical metamaterials, enhancing traditional strategies by evaluating deformation in subregions. Combining simulated annealing with a genetic algorithm, it improves design efficiency and enables customizable deformation paths.

Strong Convergence Theorems of Viscosity Iterative Methods for a Countable Family of Strict Pseudo-contractions in Banach Spaces

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2010
For a countable family of strictly pseudo-contractions, a strong convergence of viscosity iteration is shown in order to find a common fixed point of in either a p-uniformly convex Banach space which admits a weakly continuous duality mapping or a p-

Label‐Free 3D Photoacoustic Imaging of Tumor Organoids for Volumetric Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A label‐free organoid photoacoustic imaging (LFOPI) system is developed for precise volumetric drug screening evaluation. As a proof of concept, LFOPI's performance in chemotherapy and immunotherapy drug screening assays are further evaluated. The LFOPI offers unique non‐invasive, label‐free capabilities for tumor organoids, and contributes to the ...

A universal deviation inequality for random polytopes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We consider the convex hull of a finite sample of i.i.d. points uniformly distributed in a convex body in $\R^d$, $d\geq 2$. We prove an exponential deviation inequality, which leads to rate optimal upper bounds on all the moments of the missing volume of the convex hull, uniformly over all convex bodies of $\R^d$, with no restriction on their volume ...

Approximating fixed points of nonexpansive type mappings

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
In a uniformly convex Banach space, the convergence of Ishikawa iterates to a unique fixed point is proved for nonexpansive type mappings under certain conditions.

Wonders of Harbor and Grey Seal Whiskers: Morphology, Natural Frequencies, and 3D Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Seals detect prey by sensing vortices using whiskers. How whisker morphologies and locations respond to hydrodynamic signals across various frequencies remains unclear. This study measures whiskers’ natural frequencies and morphologies and maps them to whisker locations on the muzzle, providing insights into how seals interpret hydrodynamic signals ...

Particle‐Assisted Optoelectronic Tweezers for Manipulating Single Cells and Microparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a particle‐assisted optoelectronic tweezers (OET) technique that uses Ag‐SiO2 microparticles as intermediaries to manipulate cells and microparticles via particle‐induced dielectrophoresis. The method extends the OET manipulation range while reducing cell damage.
